Here in Southwestern Michigan, we are no stranger to the lakefront properties and the sandy soils within which they reside.  Our Forest Beach project proposed a challenging situation.  An existing community clubhouse overlooked the lake, beach access and a seating area which had been eroded, facing the possibility of falling off the dune cliff.  The solution revolved around the reestablishment of dune grass and vegetation to provide rigidity to the faltering dune slope.  A revised seating area included overlook decks, outdoor lighting for evening access and a completely reimagined layout and design for how the space is used.  Redesigned signage also accompanied the new face for the clubhouse and lake access.
